“ I’ve loved you ever since that day you broke your slate over my head in school.”

-Anne of the Island

Your imperfections make you breathtaking.

Yesterday at work, this little boy named Josh came up to order his food.

I immediately couldn’t take my eyes off of him, and he knew it. But it was for a different reason than what he thought.

See, Josh was blind in one eye. You could tell that he was almost ashamed, and he only looked up at you in order to answer your questions. His left eye sat there, looking just like his right, only it stared straight at you, with no movement or constriction.

But those two eyes together, looking right at me, gave me one of the best feelings in the world.

Josh’s eyes were bluer than the skies. Outlined in dark black lashes, they complimented his head of midnight-black hair. He had little freckles on his little nose, and a smile made those eyes even more electrocuting. He couldn’t have been more than 10 years old. And I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. He was perfect. Breathtaking. Captivating.

He didn’t know his beauty. He thought he was imperfect, and he was embarrassed. Not only did this make him even more intriguing, but it made me want to go up and hug him even more than I already wanted to.

And then I realized, everyone feels like this. No one knows their beauty — they always think their imperfections are embarrassing and shameful.

But what only a few people realize is that these flaws make everyone unique, perfect, and captivating.

I mean, seriously, look at me. I’m skinny, awkward, freckled, crooked-mouthed, and frizzy-haired. I’m around people who complain about skinny anorexic girls, and I know that they think of me. It’s not my fault I’m skinny — I hate being skinny. I eat three times more food than I should, trying to gain as much weight as I can. But I can’t. Do I think any of those negative qualities about me are beautiful? No. Of course not.

But Jesus made me with those “imperfections”. In His eyes, I am perfect. Nothing that Jesus created is imperfect. It’s Jesus, for goodness sakes, He never makes a mistake. Therefore, we are all perfect and beautiful in our own ways.

Genesis 1:31 says;

“God looked over everything He had made; it was so good, so very good!” (MSG)

Everything that He had made. And it was so very good. Perfect. He was satisfied. Did He not create you in your mother’s womb? Yes, He did. Therefore, you are “so very good!”

Jesus goes on to say in Psalms 45:11;

“The King is enthralled by your beauty.” (NIV)

Jesus, the God of the universe, — the Man who created lightning and flowers and angels — is captivated by you. You take His breath away. He can’t take His eyes off of you.

Your imperfections make you beautiful to Jesus. And to me. And to everyone else that sees you.

It doesn’t matter what your “imperfection” is; you think you’re overweight, you think you’re underweight, you’re blind in one eye, your hair is curly, you can’t be athletic like everyone else, your smile isn’t like Jennifer Lawrence’s. That’s going by the world’s standard of beauty. Who are they to think that they can judge other people’s beauty? No one is perfect, and the people of the world who criticize you probably do so because they envy your enthralling beauty.

Remember Josh. You never know who will be captivated by your breathtaking beauty.

Hi dear. You're really gorgeous. :( =)) And I think It would be a pleasure to be your friend. :> Soooo, I hope I'll get noticed. :>
